Dogs & Daffs 2019 – Charity Dog Walk and Fun Dog Show

Dogs and Daffs 2019

On the 24th March 2019, a fantastic day was had at Dogs & Daffs – Charity Dog Walk and Fun Dog Show, held within the stunning grounds of Hatfield House.

It only seems like yesterday since we last catered for Dogs & Daffs Fundraising Team, and what an amazing day we all had again! The weather wasn’t too dissimilar to last year, but slightly warmer which was an added bonus. Many Dogs of all breeds arrived in droves, to take part in this popular, and rapidly growing charity event, where there’s four exclusive mapped-out walks set within the beautiful grounds of Hatfield House, along with numerous brightly coloured obstacle courses for your pet to take part in, lots of pet stalls, Barbe-Kew’s outstanding locally sourced food, and of course, not forgetting our crepes and waffles to sweeten your day! Again the entire Dogs and Daffs Team did an amazing job, and managed to raise a staggering £8,300 for Digswell Place Group RDA (Riding for Disabled Association); a much loved charity that provides therapy, and builds confidence in people with disabilities, through riding ponies and horses. I believe this year’s charity event was even greater than last year, so well done to everyone that took part, and for your kind generosity, which will have a huge impact on improving the lives of others. Thank you to all the pooch owners that took part in this exceptional day, along with your outstandingly well-behaved dogs and pups, and to Hatfield Army Cadets, who helped the day run smoothly.

We look forward to seeing you all again next year.

New Renault and Dacia Showroom Grand Opening – John Banks Group

Renault Cambridge John Banks

New Renault and Dacia Showroom Grand Opening in Cambridge

On Friday 31st August, we had the privilege of catering for the staff and VIP customers of John Banks Group, for the grand opening of their largest Renault Showroom in the UK, and bigger and better Dacia Showroom, both based in Cambridge. During this magnificent evening there were chilled refreshments, our sweet and savoury crepes, a very talented accordionist who set a wonderful French ambience throughout the event, and a caricaturist whose talent of capturing his subjects’ ‘best features’ were second to none. Renault’s latest car showroom opening was a huge success, with their customers placing orders on Renault’s latest cars throughout the evening, plus getting the chance to test-drive Renault’s quirky two-seat Electric Twizy, and not forgetting the chance to win a brand-new Renault Clio!

You can now visit Renault’s ‘New State of the Art’ car showroom, based in Swanns Road, Cambridge. Get the chance to test drive their latest models, and speak to their friendly team.

Crepes for Pancake Day!

Pancakes

Crepes for Shrove Tuesday

Today we’re travelling to Kent to serve our crepes for the folk of Sevenoaks in Kent in celebration of Pancake Day, which is otherwise known as Shrove Tuesday.  Pancake Day is the traditional feast day before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday, where traditionally families are to clear out their cupboards and remove the fattening foods including the tempting ones during Lent. Here in the UK we tend to eat more than one pancake, and our favourite still seems to be the classic lemon & sugar. You can try adding a twist to your traditional pancake recipe by adding a few drops of vanilla essence and some cocoa powder to give it a rich chocolatey flavour, topped with strawberries and Belgian chocolate sauce, mmm… yummy.

Don’t forget to flip your pancake, and good luck.

Creperie

Welcome back to Crêpe de la Crêpe latest blog!

It’s been a while since we last posted, so please accept my apologies as we have been so busy during the summer months exhibiting with our crêperie at many family orientated festivals, seeing thousands of people attend where our crêpe mix was literally flying ?. We also served at some incredible car shows, including the well-known ‘The Warren Classic and Supercar Show’, where this year saw over 10,000 people attend, and ‘The Battlesbridge Car Show’ where there was jive dancing and live retro bands. We were also very privileged to cater at many vintage fayres, private birthdays and wedding events, all of which were a delight to cook for. Well I’m just grabbing some time now before it’s all go again with the Christmas fayres and lights switch on looming, check-out our Events Page to see where we’ll be next, and to come join us in the Christmas spirit at some great Christmas events happening near you.

Events include the lights switch-on in local Towns across Essex, and exciting Christmas Fayres which are being held in Schools, community halls and private venues. They are all worth checking out for some festive fun, and to grab those unique Christmas gifts for that special someone, as well as tasting some culinary delights (including some delicious French Crêpes and large Belgian waffles, might I add). Christmas events give you the chance to enjoy some fun filled family time, where you can visit the big man himself ‘Father Christmas’, plus get the opportunity to purchase some individually hand-crafted gifts that you wouldn’t find anywhere else. I love nothing more (other than a holiday in Barbados) than sipping my warmed mulled wine, watching the sparkling lights whilst smelling the delicious aroma of many street foods, and a chance to browse over gifts at brightly decorated Christmas stalls whilst listening to our favourite seasonal carols.

We hope to see you at these Christmas events soon!
