Awarded 5 Food Hygiene Rating

Crêpe de la Crêpe are delighted to announce that we have again been awarded a 5 Food Hygiene Rating, following our routine inspection with Southend on Sea Borough Council Environmental Health. Cleanliness and safety of our customers is our main priority, and we make sure that every aspect of food hygiene is kept to the highest standard, with no room for error, and fully complying with the law. This includes excellent practice of food handling, including preparation, cleanliness of facilities and allergy awareness and advice.

CHAMPNEYS CHALLENGE

On Sunday 14^th October, Crêpe de la Crêpe had the privilege of taking part in Champneys Challenge, the 10k Hike, Bike and Run Event at Champneys Tring. Despite the downpour, hundreds of charitable participants turned-up to make it a day to remember. The event kicked off with a warm up, hosted by the astrologer legend ‘Russell Grant’. He geared everyone up, ready to take on the challenge. With his bending and stretching techniques, we could hear lots of giggling and banter amongst the contestants.

Then who should I hear amongst the crowd………. It was the deep voice, and laughter from the legend himself, ‘Frank Bruno’. He came over to our creperie bearing a super smile whilst ordering his crepe, I made sure it was an extra-large one! I couldn’t resist the opportunity of having our photograph taken together.

Champneys Challenge raised a staggering £50,000 for their chosen charities: Alzheimer’s Research UK and Crisis UK. Well done to everyone who took part, you really are truly super!

New Renault and Dacia Showroom Grand Opening in Cambridge

On Friday 31st August, we had the privilege of catering for the staff and VIP customers of John Banks Group, for the grand opening of their largest Renault Showroom in the UK, and bigger and better Dacia Showroom, both based in Cambridge. During this magnificent evening there were chilled refreshments, our sweet and savoury crepes, a very talented accordionist who set a wonderful French ambience throughout the event, and a caricaturist whose talent of capturing his subjects’ ‘best features’ were second to none. Renault’s latest car showroom opening was a huge success, with their customers placing orders on Renault’s latest cars throughout the evening, plus getting the chance to test-drive Renault’s quirky two-seat Electric Twizy, and not forgetting the chance to win a brand-new Renault Clio!

London Bridges Walk – Kidney Research UK

London Bridges walk 2019 – Kidney Research UK

On the 1st July 2019, we had the pleasure and privilege of cooking our crepes for the ‘The London Bridges Walk’; an annual charity event for Kidney Research UK. The charity walk started and finished within the charming Potters Fields Park, which is a small grassed riverside park located South-West of the iconic Tower Bridge, with sweeping views of the river. This year’s charity walk consisted of hundreds of selfless participants, that manage to turn London purple with their brightly coloured purple tops, headpieces and accessories, whilst they made their way across London’s most famous bridges. This popular charity walk is approximately 7 miles long, and took place during UK’s blistering heatwave. Thousands of inflated purple balloons could be seen floating across Tower Bridge in their droves, whilst being held by the participants, and raising thousands of pounds for Kidney Research UK.

Kidney disease is a silent killer, and with monies raised from Kidney Research UK charity events, and the generosity of everyone involved, it is now estimated that every year, 60,000 people with kidney failure are alive today, due to the advances in research that Kidney Research UK has directly contributed to.

Everyone involved had an amazing day, and I would like to thank Kidney Research UK for asking us to be a part of your special fundraising day; what a privilege it was!

The Big Brocante 2018

We are delighted to have been asked to cater at ‘The Big Brocante’, located at The Hop Farm, famously recognised for their vintage and collectors fair which will be taking place on the 16^th – 18^th March from 8 am till 4 pm. You’re advised to arrive early to get the ‘pick of the crop’. We shall be preparing our crepes and waffles in our horsebox creperie for over 1000 visitors that will be expected to visit this prestigious event, near Paddock Wood in Kent. We will be serving our traditional French crepes along with our huge freshly baked waffles with an array of sweet toppings which will send your taste buds into a whirl. At ‘The Big Brocante’, you can find breath-taking hidden treasures, interior furniture from across mainland Europe and afar, Garden items, French Antiques & Mid-century design, so if you’re into collectables or a vintage enthusiast, then this event is a must!’

The Hop Farm is a 400-acre Country Park, situated within the stunning green land of Kent, and is famously known for having the largest collection of oast houses in the world.

Come and join us where you will find the most wonderful and unusual items, that you simply won’t see in the shops, and also get to try one of our tasty crepes or waffles whilst you’re visiting.
