Crepes for Shrove Tuesday
Today we’re travelling to Kent to serve our crepes for the folk of Sevenoaks in Kent in celebration of Pancake Day, which is otherwise known as Shrove Tuesday. Pancake Day is the traditional feast day before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday, where traditionally families are to clear out their cupboards and remove the fattening foods including the tempting ones during Lent. Here in the UK we tend to eat more than one pancake, and our favourite still seems to be the classic lemon & sugar. You can try adding a twist to your traditional pancake recipe by adding a few drops of vanilla essence and some cocoa powder to give it a rich chocolatey flavour, topped with strawberries and Belgian chocolate sauce, mmm… yummy.
Don’t forget to flip your pancake, and good luck.
